People’s Committee in Meo Vac District said that a primary school in Xin Cai Commune provided meals including minced meat and steamed glutinous rice to 279 students at its school kitchen.
150 students had been taken to the local infirmary because they experienced vomiting, belly pain and shitting one hour after consuming food.
Local health authority and school had examined and taken 87 of them to the medical clinic and the General Hospital for further treatment
The Department of Health asked the food safety branch office to liaise with local medical workers to investigate the cause of the incident.
