VND1 billion project to build 6 classrooms in Lao Cai Province

VND1 billion (US$ 44,500) will be used to build 6 classrooms of Lo Su Thang school in Coc Cang village in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai.

The National Fund for Vietnamese Children under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs encouraged businesspersons to contribute for school construction in Din Chin Commune in Muong Khuong District of Lao Cai Province. The fund and the Department in Lao Cai Province have kicked off the construction of the classrooms.

Lao Cai Province - one of northern mountainous provinces- is lacking classrooms and educational facilities most. The Fund has mobilized benefactors and enterprises to contribute VND 1billion to build 6 classrooms helping 90 – 100 children to study in safe and good school.

The Fund will keep calling for people to contribute to build more schools because 204 students in the villages Lo Su Thang, Na Co, Mao Sao Chai and Sin A Chai are still studying in classrooms made from bamboo, tree or houses of inhabitants.

Since 2008, the Fund has supported to build 70 schools with total of VND30 billion (US$ 1,334,700)
