VN wins medals at International Mathematical Olympiad 2017

Vietnamese math team including six members excellently grabbed four gold, one silver and one bronze medals at the 2017 International Mathematical Olympiad, reported the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam this morning from Brazil.

Four gold medals belonged to Hoang Huu Quoc Huy from Le Quy Don High School in Ba Ria- Vung Tau province, Nguyen Canh Hoang from Phan Boi Chau High School in Nghe An province, Le Quang Dung from Lam Son High School in Thanh Hoa province and Phan Nhat Duy from Ha Tinh High School in Ha Tinh province. 

 The only silver medal was given to Pham Nam Khanh, the eleventh-grader of Hanoi- Amsterdam High school. 

The bronze medal went to Do Van Quyet, the 12th grader from Vinh Phuc High school in Vinh Phuc province. 

With the final result, Vietnam was ranked the third position among 112 countries and territories worldwide after South Korea and China. 

This is also the highest result in past 43 years that Vietnam had ever participated in the International Mathematical Olympiad. 

Ministry of Education and Training plans to welcome Vietnamese Math team as they return home at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 6:30am on July 25.
