Vietnamese students win prizes at Int’l Biology Olympiad 2010

The Vietnamese team of four students won two silvers and one bronze medal at the 21st International Biology Olympiad, held in Changwon City, the Republic of Korea, from July 11-18.

Bui Thuy Anh of Amsterdam High School in Hanoi and Cao Bao Anh from Ho Chi Minh City’s National University’s Gift High School won silver medals; both are 12th graders.

Another 12th grader, Vu Thi Ngoc Oanh, from the Practical Secondary School under the Hanoi Teachers’ University, took home a bronze medal.

Vietnam will host the International Biology Olympiad in 2016.

In related news, a Vietnamese team including five students Friday went to Tokyo, Japan to take part in the 2010 International Chemistry Olympiad, held from July 19-28.
