Nguyen Ngoc Long of Lam Son HighSchool for Gifted Students in Thanh Hoa province and Tran Duc Huy of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School won gold medals.
Nguyen Xuan Tan of the High School for Gifted Students under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Trinh Duy Hieu of Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students in Bac Giang province received silver medals.
One bronze medal belonged to Nguyen Van Thanh Loi of Quang Trung High School for Gifted Students in Binh Phuoc province.
China and India picked up five medals at the contest each, followed by Russia, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan (China) with four gold medals, the US with 3 gold medals, Vietnam and Israel with 2 gold medals.
The 49th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) 2018 attracted participants from 86 countries and territories across the world. Started in 1967, the event becomes an annual physics competition for high school students.
