Vietnamese students attained the best results at IPhO 2016

Vietnamese students won two gold, two silver and one bronze medals at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2016), held at the University of Zurich in Switzerland and Liechtenstein from July 11-17.                                                Vietnamese team

Dinh Thi Huong Thao from Le Hong Phong Specialized High School in Nam Dinh Province and Nguyen The Quynh of Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School in Quang Binh Province won gold medals.

Silver medals went to Nguyen Quang Nam from High School for Gifted Students at the Hanoi University of Education and Pham Quang Minh of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School.

Pham Ngoc Nam of Le Hong Phong Specialized High School in Nam Dinh Province got the bronze medal.

Thao was also honored with the "Best Performing Female Asian Participant" award by the Association of Asia-Pacific Physics Societies.

The 47th International Physics Olympiad was held in Zürich, Switzerland in conjunction with Liechtenstein. The event drew participation of 398 contestants from 87 countries and regions.
