Vietnam wins 6 silvers at Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad

Six Vietnamese students won silver medals at the 2014 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad hosted by Kazakhstan but held online.

They are all 11th or 12th graders -- Do Xuan Viet, Do Ngoc Khanh, Ngo Hoang Anh Phuc, and Nguyen Viet Dung from High School of Natural Sciences in Hanoi, Nguyen Phan Quang Minh from Nguyen Trai high school in Hai Duong province, and Tran Trong Dat of Amsterdam High School in Hanoi.

This year’s competition, held on May 3 and 4, saw students from 29 countries.

Fifteen Vietnamese students took part in the online contest at the University of Engineering and Technology in Hanoi Capital on May 4.

Vietnam finished seventh out of the 29 participating countries.
