Special week organized in response to lifelong learning tradition

In its document tot departments of education and training, the Ministry of Education and Training asked to organize a week in response to lifelong learning tradition.
The week responding to lifelong learning tradition is an annual activity to raise all walks of life’s awareness of role and necessity of continuous learning helping to enhance our understanding of the world around us, providing us with more and better opportunities and improving our quality of life.
Themes of the week will be selected by local education authorities. The Ministry suggested some themes including lifelong learning according to Ho Chi Minh City’s example, self-learning to develop one’s own ability and virtues and reading habit helps to become a person of lifelong learning.
Based on its real condition, people’s committees in cities and provinces will organize the week. The Ministry also suggested some activities such as spreading information in media about goals, significance of lifelong learning, and models of learning.
Additionally, the Ministry suggested launching classroom book shelves in primary school and high schools as well as book shelves in learning community centers , offices and organizations.
The week is organized from October 1 to 7.
