Russian educational cooperation expands

The Russian Centre of Science and Culture held a news conference in Hanoi on March 30 to introduce phase III of the ‘Russian Universities’ educational project.

The project, run by the Russia Cooperation Agency in collaboration with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, focuses on establishing and developing direct links between universities of the two countries and drawing Vietnamese young citizens to study in Russia.

Addressing the news conference on behalf of the Russian delegation introducing the project, Chairman of the Committee of International Affairs of Russian Duma Kosachev Konstantin Iosifovich underscored that the project would strengthen science, culture and friendship between Russia and Vietnam.

Russia is set to provide 795 scholarships in 2015, up from 650 in 2014, and looks to bring the number to 1,000 in 2018.

A delegation of Russian universities in making a working visit from March 29 to April 4 during which they will conduct a number of meetings and activities at universities across Hanoi.
