RMIT International University Vietnam said Tuesday it is awarding 30 scholarships for entry into programs beginning this October.

This year’s 10th anniversary scholarships fall into four categories: Undergraduate Entry Scholarships for both Vietnamese and international students coming direct from high schools, Post Graduate Scholarships for RMIT Vietnam alumni, and Recognition of Academic Achievement available to students who are already RMIT University students and are performing at an exceptionally high level.

The scholarships are worth between VND436 million and VND559 million, an RMIT Vietnam source said.

The scholarships for alumni and for existing RMIT students are entirely new categories introduced this year, said the university – an offshoot of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia.

“With our 10th Anniversary scholarship program, we hope to make a difference to the lives of young people not just in Vietnam but also in the region by giving more opportunities to study in an international environment,” RMIT Vietnam president Professor Merilyn Liddell said in a statement.

“We’re particularly pleased to extending the types of scholarships being offered as well,” she added.

The international university said since its inception in 2001, RMIT Vietnam has given out almost 600 scholarships worth more than VND90 billion.
