The annual ‘Prudential-Good Essay, Good Writing Contest’ has started in provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, according to the organizers Prudential Life Insurance Company in Vietnam and Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper.
The 14th ‘Prudential-Good Essay, Good Writing Contest’ will have more awards than previous competitions aimed at encouraging and attracting a larger number of students to take part in the event.
After the series of contests in schools, districts and provinces, outstanding students scoring the highest marks at the province-level will be chosen for the regional level competition in Tien Giang Province on November 30.
Launched in 2000, ‘Prudential-Good Essay, Good Writing Contest’ is organized each year by Prudential Life Vietnam and Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper. The contest is supported by the municipal department of education and training and held annually for students of secondary high schools in Ho Chi Minh City.
The contest opened in Mekong Delta Region for the first time in 2004 with support from the education departments in the delta provinces and cities. It attracts hundreds of thousands of students every year.
The contest aims to encourage study of literature, developing good handwriting, reading and good essay writing skills among students, encouraging them to bring out their sensitivity and creativity of expression.
