More preschools in HCMC keep toddlers

As per the roadmap of pilot program to keep toddlers from 6 to 18 month old in preschools in Ho Chi Minh City, four more districts will have classrooms to admit toddlers in the academic year 2015-2016.

At a meeting yesterday in the city held by the Department of Education and Training to review the pilot program to keep small kids from 6 to 18 month old, Ms. Nguyen Tu Du, deputy head of preschool management bureau under the department, said that in the first year, 13 preschools in urban districts 7, 12, Binh Tan, Tan Phu, Thu Duc and suburban districts Cu Chi, Nha Be and Binh Chanh opened classes to admit kids aged from 6 to 18 month old including 60 kids from 6 to 12 month old and 115 kids aged from 13 to 18 month old.

In next year 2015-2016, districts 9, 11, Go Vap and Tan Binh will have special classes for toddlers. Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga, deputy head of the department of education and training in the district, said that education sector is conceiving a plan to keep children of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones in the district in shift to meet increased demand.

It is scheduled to keep neonates until 10 MP.
