Marie Curie High School celebrates its 100th anniversary

A ceremony marking the 100th founding anniversary of Marie Curie High School (1918 – 2018), one of the oldest schools in HCM City, was held on November 17.

Speaking at the ceremony, Principal of Marie Curie High School, Nguyen Dang Khoa reviewed the history and development of the high school
Established in 1918 and named after the Nobel prize-winning scientist Marie Curie, the school is home of more than 2,800 students.
In 2015, Marie Curie High School was recognized as a cultural historical relic and architectural building as relic by the HCMC authorities.
Its notable alumni are famous people in various fields of policy, society, education, economy and art, including Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Truong Hoa Binh.
Deputy PM delighted and thrilled as he returned to school where he studied 40 years ago. He expressed his deep gratitude to teachers for their outstanding contribution to teaching and the city’s development.
On this occasion, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Le Thanh Liem handed over the Traditional Flag to Marie Curie High School and certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training to units that contributed to the development of country’s education sector.
