Kon Tum’s education sector gives ethnic minorities textbooks

The education sector in the highlands province of Kon Tum has encouraged staffs to voluntarily contribute one-day earnings to buy textbooks for ethnic minority students in the new academic school 2014-2015.

The education sector in the highlands province of Kon Tum has encouraged staffs to voluntarily contribute one-day earnings to buy textbooks for ethnic minority students in the new academic school 2014-2015.

Kon Tum Province has around 38,397 disadvantaged ethnic minority students who lack textbooks. To help them study better, the education sector has asked educationists, teachers and staffs in the province to donate one-day salary to buy textbooks for them.

The sector has also encouraged parents of senior students to donate their old textbooks to younger students.

In addition, the provincial People’s Committee has called for individuals and organizations to collect textbooks to give disadvantaged students. 

The Department of Education and Training has received 22,565 textbooks from individuals and organizations so far. Local enterprises are planned to support the remaining textbooks.
