Intel presents scholarships to Vietnamese students

After three month selection, Intel Products Vietnam June 24 awarded scholarships to 22 top engineering students under the second cohort of the Intel Vietnam Study Abroad Program.

After three month selection, Intel Products Vietnam June 24 awarded scholarships to 22 top engineering students under the second cohort of the Intel Vietnam Study Abroad Program.

The students were selected from six technical universities in Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, HCMC University of Technical Education, HCMC University of Natural Sciences, HCMC International University, Hanoi University of Technology and Danang University of Technology – after passing three rounds of competitive examinations.

The scholarship winning students will study at Portland State University in the US during the academic years 2010-2012. The total values of the 50 scholarships both cohort 1 and cohort 2 is approximately VND76 billion (US$4 million).

The Intel Vietnam Study Abroad Program was introduced in December 2008 and sought qualified engineering students to study in a US academic environment for two years. The program organizers has selected 28 students in 2009 and 22 more students in 2010.
