HCMC students given full day off for fear of typhoon Usagi

For students’ safety, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training gave students a full day off on Monday in its dispatch to schools yesterday night.

As many areas of the city are suffered from severe inundation as a result of torrential, students are permitted to stay at home.
Additionally, schools are asked to check facilities and repair damages caused by the typhoon.
Meantime, students in the Mekong delta province of Ben Tre will come to school as normally as the province just had faced tropical low pressure.
Weather meteorologists said that the storm weakened into tropical low pressure hitting the southern provinces of Ba Ria – Vung Tau to Ben Tre with strong wind level of 40-60km per hour. Due to the impact of the depression, coastal districts including Binh Thanh, Thanh Phu, and Ba Tri of Ben Tre Province had torrential rains with strong winds.
Also, Ben Tre authority banned fishing boats to go out to the sea.
