HCMC honors good students

The People’s Committee and the Department of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh hosted a ceremony to honor good students of the academic year 2013-2014 on July 25.

The People’s Committee and the Department of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh hosted a ceremony to honor good students of the academic year 2013-2014 on July 25.

351 good students of city, national and international contests were cited for their achievements and granted certificates of merits. Especially, Pham Tuan Huy, twelve-grader of the School for Gifted Students grabbed golden medals from international Math Olympiad contests in two successive years; twelve-grader Ho Quoc Dang Hung captured silver medal from international Math Olympiad contest and Pham Nguyen Tuan Anh, twelve-grader, took the silver medal of international physic contest and silver medal from Asian Olympiad contest.

In addition, the city also honors 4,354 students who won prizes from city’s contest and four students who take the top of high school graduation examination lately.

On behalf of the city’s leaders, HCMC People's Committee chairman Le Hoang Quan applauded good students’ achievements, promising that the city will pay attention to them as they are future human resources of the city
