Government to give universities more rights to self-determination

Universities will be given more rights to self-determination since the 2014-2015 school year, according to the new regulations on university promulgated by the Government.

Universities will give priority to recruiting graduates of Bachelor's degrees, Master and Ph.D degrees with good overall scores.

The schools will be responsible for drafting textbook, curriculum and teaching methods; enrollment target; diploma awarding; signing the decisions recognizing students’ graduation; recruitment; training managing staff, teachers, officials and more.

A university has a maximum of three vice rectors, said the new regulations.
