FPT University and Pearson Edexcel Education of England, the UK's largest awarding organization offering academic, vocational and work-based learning qualifications, including BTEC, Edexcel and LCCI, cooperated to open the school.

The school is one of 6,000 colleges granted BTEC HND (Business and Technology Education Council) - a qualification and vocational qualification. The graduates will be awarded the diploma of the BTEC in Vietnam.

In the first year, the school will provide training initially in information technology (IT), business administration and computer-aided design, said FPT University chairman Le Truong Tung. Unlike other colleges in Vietnam, the school offers opportunities for Vietnamese students to access international training programs with the total tuition fee for the two-year program of VND80 million (US$3,524)

Because lecturers will deliver in English, applicants must graduate senior high school or have IELTS score of 4.5 up. Students with average math and English score of 6.0 will go straight into the school without taking entrance examination. Students who have no English certificates as required can sit for a test organized by the school.
