The Vietnam Records Book Center has recognized the first set of Braille schoolbooks to be published in Vietnam by teachers of Nguyen Dinh Chieu, a school for the blind, February 14.

The set of 311 books, from grade 1 to 12, took six years to complete and has been given to blind schools in 20 provinces around the country.

Nguyen Dinh Chieu School, formerly Saigon School for the Blind, overseen by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, opened its doors in 1926. The school receives students from 3 to 20 years old from the city and neighboring provinces.
