With the sponsor of benefactors, the Ho Chi Minh City Sponsoring Association for Disabled people and Orphans has given 919 scholarships to disabled students and orphans for the academic year 2015-2016,
The Association yesterday presented scholarships to disabled students, orphans and children of disabled people in HCMC, the Mekong delta provinces of Long An and Ben Tre.
The scholarships were sponsored by family of Hou Teng Lee, chairman of Fusheng Corporation and Duy Tan Plastic Company.
Scholarships were given to primary students to university students. Each scholarship is worth from VND700,000 (US$31.3) to VND2 million (US$89.5).
In the academic year, the Association has provided 919 scholarships totally worth VND800 million (US$35,824). Additionally, students also received clothes presented by Eden social fund.
