12-grader from Tien Giang province wins Olympia contest

Nguyen Trong Nhan, a twelve-grade student of Tien Giang Specialized High School in the Mekong delta province of Tien Giang, won the Olympia prize worth US$35,000 in the final round, on August 3.

Nguyen Trong Nhan, a twelve-grade student of Tien Giang Specialized High School in the Mekong delta province of Tien Giang, won the Olympia prize worth US$35,000 in the final round, on August 3.

The first place Nguyen Trong Nhan won 260 marks after several round. Youngest contestant Nguyen Hoang Bach from the High School for gifted student of Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) came the second place in the contest.

Next was Nguyen Ngoc Anh with 140 marks and last Vu Tien Dat with 100 marks.

Nhan’s mother said that Nhan has nurtured the desire of winning the first place in the Olympia contest since he was four graders after watching contests on TV.

Nhan has just passed the university entrance examination, he will soon enter the IT faculty of the Nature University in HCMC. He said he wants to be a good network expert in the future.

The intelligence quiz show is annual organized by Vietnam Television for outstanding students nationwide.
