Winners of 2018 Golden Kite awards announced

Chang Vo Cua Em (My Mr Wife), directed by Vietnamese-America director and film producer Charlie Nguyen’ won the Golden Kite Awards for feature movie at the ward ceremony which was held at the Military Theater in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Binh District on April 12.

Director Charlie Nguyen aslo won the “Best Director” for his comedy on the role of women and the difficult aspect of managing work and family.
Song Lang (The Tap Box), a film about the art of cai luong (reformed opera) directed by Leon Le was honored with the title “Silver Kite Award”.
Lien Binh Phat who plays the role of cai luong artist in res the movie “Song Lang” won aslo Best Actor.
“Best Actress” prize went to Hoang Yen Chibi who plays the main role of the film Nhung Thang Nam Ruc Ro (Splendid years) directed by Nguyen Quang Dung.Sieu
The Best Screenplay Award was presented to the film Sieu Sao Sieu Ngo (Super Star Super Silly).
Winners of the “Best Supporting Actress” and “Best Supporting Actor” awards went to Thanh Truc and Hoang Phi.
The prizes, “Best Musician” and “Best production design” belonged to Duong Khac Linh and Le Ngoc Quoc Bao respectively.
The organization board also awarded the titles, ““Best cameraman”, “Best Sound Mixing and among.
In the TV series category, the films Ben Kia Song (The Other Side of a River) by director Do Phu Hai and Pham Ngoc Chau; and Quynh Bup Be (Doll Quynh)by director Mai Hong Phong received the Golden Kite awards.
This year’s film fest attracted around 144 cinematic works, including 14 featured films, 13 TV movies, 61 documentaries, 11 cartoons, 26 short films, 14 science, 2 film studies and criticism.
The event also honored late People's Artist Pham Khac and cameraman Nguyen The Doan who have made outstanding contribution to Vietnamese cinema.
