Director Eduardo Hubscher, one of the organizers of the 16th International Puppetry Festival in Jerusalem, Israel, praised Vietnamese water puppetry.
The internationally renowned director said so after reviewing 17 acts of Hai Phong province’s water puppetry team.
These folklore water puppetry acts of cau ech (fishing frog), mua bat tien (eight fairies dance), cao bat vit (foxes catch ducks) will be staged abroad so that viewers can enjoy Vietnamese traditional water puppetry.
In addition to preserving the traditional arts, Hai Phong water puppetry team also took part in activities to promote tourism in the northern city of Hai Phong.
