Vietnamese poet wins Korean int’l literary prize

Vietnamese poet, Nguyen Quang Thieu won the 2018 Changwon KC International Literary Prize. The award ceremony will be held in September in Changwon, South Korea.

Nguyen Quang Thieu is the first Vietnamese poet to receive the prestigious prize and brought Korean literature to Vietnam readers. He is also known as a novel and short story writer, playwright and translator
The poet is the Vice chairman of the Vietnamese Writers Association and director of Vietnam Writers Association Publishing House
Changwon KC International Literary Prize has been presented to writers between ages 50 to 65 years old. The prizes were awarded to famous authors, including Christopher Merrill and Tracy K.Smith of the US, Bei Dao of China and Claude Mouchard of France.
