Dinh said the impressionist-style painting is inspired by rows of bamboos, boats, and rivers which are emblematic of the Vietnamese countryside. Apart from it predominantly green colour, it is also dotted with yellow, brown, orange, and red lines.
Overcoming nearly 1,000 entries worldwide, “Melody of Bamboo” has touched the heart of painting lovers worldwide and received one of the prestigious 90 prizes.
Experts said that they could feel the various dimensions of space, sound, and motion captured in the painting. The piece is due to be displayed at a exhibition of Somsak Chaituch, a Dutch painter of Thai descent, at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum on October 28.
