Speaking at the ceremony, Vice chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen highly appreciated the city’s annual Ao Dai festival as it have contributed in the honoring Vietnamese traditional dress and spreading pride and love on Ao Dai.
Mr. Tuyen asked the municipal tourism industry to enhance the attractiveness and provide high quality tourism produtcs to draw more visitors as well as to preserve and develop the unique quintessence of the Vietnamese culture.
This year’s event offered a wide range of activities, including Ao Dai exhibition, a parade featuring more than 3,000 women wearing Vietnamese traditional Ao dai in Nguyen Hue walking street, art programs on the Vietnamese traditional dress, Miss Ao Dai beauty contest, seminars and talk shows on Ao Dai and among.
The city’s authorities also encouraged staff of people’s committees of districts, state offices, schools and universities throughout the city to wear Ao dai during March.
