Speaking at the opening ceremony, Charge d’affaires at the Thai Embassy in Vietnam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul said that the two-day festival aims to not only enhance people-to-people exchanges but also introduce every aspect of Thailand to Vietnamese friends through diverse culture, delectable cuisine, and art performances.
Visitors to the festival have a chance to enjoy traditional dances, beautiful destinations, Thai street food and contemplate Muay Thai (Thai boxing).
The event has attracted 50 businesses based in the north-eastern region of Thailand, all companies and importers operating in Vietnam and travel agents. They are presenting their products and look for chances to find partners.
The proceeds from the event will be donated to charity organisations in Vietnam.
Last year, over 500 million VND (21,800 USD) was donated to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and Hanoi Association for Victims of Agent Orange.
The Thai embassy, Thai private companies and the Thai community in Vietnam are jointly organising the festival.
