The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department and Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Company co- organized an opening ceremony of the 12th Southern fruits festival in 2016 at Suoi Tien Cultural & Tourism Park in district 9, HCMC on June 1.

At the opening ceremony, the organizers and dornors offered VND 400 million to affected rural farmers living in southern provinces hit by drought and saltwater influx in previous months. Accordingly, the sum of money will be used for buying saltwater refractometer, fresh water tanks, and presenting scholarships for children in difficult circumstances.
The 12th Southern fruits festival is scheduled to take place on June 1- 9, including attractive activities such as market traders in boats selling fruits with 50 fruits pavilions, rare and giant fruits collection, fruit sculpture, kite and art performance and beverage preparation and others.
This year fruits festival will showcase unique, giant and safe fruits from 1, 000 orchurds across 21 provinces and cities in the southern and neighboring regions.
