Play of “The Coronation”, Special Combination of French and Vietnamese Dramatics

The play of “The coronation” by Monte-Charge Theatre and Vietnamese Classical Drama Theatre was performed at the Municipal Theater in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on June 12 following successful performances in Ha Noi and Hue Festival 2006.

The play of “The coronation” is a combination between Vietnamese classical drama art and French mask dramatics and was performed in two languages of Vietnamese and French by artists of two countries.

Besides, the concert “Looking for the Wind” took place at French cultural center in Ha Noi on June 13 after performances in HCMC and Hue Festival 2006.

The concert was attended by the French band Mezcal Jazz Unit and Vietnamese artists, such as saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan, T’rung player Ho Nga (T’rung is a musical instrument of the ethnic minorities in Viet Nam), Vietnamese two-chord fiddle player Nguyen Thu Thuy and monochord player Nguyen Anh Tan.
