Over 100 child dancers to perform in Tchaikovsky ballet “Nutcracker”

The magnificent Tchaikovsky ballet, “Nutcracker” will be performed by child dancers for the first time at Hanoi Opera House on January 28.

More than 100 child dancers aged 4-17 coming from art schools nationwide were selected and trained by leading Vietnamese choreographers.
The play is directed by Meritorious Artist Dam Han Giang with the participation of project director Dinh Huong, actor Minh Thanh, Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 Thuy Tien, first runner-up, Miss Vietnam 2016 Thanh Tu, actresses Lan Huong, Aliana Nguyen and Hong Diem, together with kid dancers from Vietnam Dance College and Hanoi Kids’ Art Center and selected dancers all around the country.
The musical performance “Nutcracker” is based on the fairy tale “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” written by E.T.A Hoffman.Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky turned the story into a ballet, which became one of Tchaikovsky’s most famous compositions, perhaps the most popular ballet in the world. It is the most awaited ballet during the Christmas season and New Year.
Music lovers will have a chance to enjoy a full classical ballet which is meticulously prepared in terms of performance as well as costumes, scenery. The ballet will bring great moments and fun not only for children but also for the audience who love classical ballet.
