The southern coastal city of Nha Trang became a colorful mix of culture for its carnival “Nha Trang – Sea beckons” on June 9.
It is one of many events for “Sea Festival 2009 – Nha Trang Best Destination,” which runs until June 12.
The carnival welcomed three special guests, Miss World 2004 Maria Julia Mantilla Garcia, Miss World 2008 Ksenia Sukhinova and newly crowned Miss Universe Indonesia 2009 Karenina Sunny Halim.
On the June 10, some the highlights are “Cau ngu” (Praying to the Big Whale for a good catch of fish) festival, performances by Vietnam’s largest traditional orchestra and the Bong Sen Music Band, and other traditional art performances.
A further highlight on the closing day, June 12, will be an aerobic performance at 2/4 Square.
The festival has attracted thousands of domestic and overseas visitors.
