An Hao Company and the National Political Publishing House have published a calendar on late President Ho Chi Minh, the first of its kind to feature images and famous sayings of the late leader under the slogan, ‘Study and Follow Ho Chi Minh's Moral Example’. (See photo).

The concept of the calendar appeared in my mind three years ago, said Vu Duc Loan, an amateur collector who suddenly had the idea of making a particular calendar design.

This unique calendar is not merely to provide information on history and time but is also a book that can be hung on the wall as a calendar, or put on the table as a reference book, according to Loan.

Immediately after entering the calendar market of 2013, the calendar book ‘Study and Follow Ho Chi Minh's Moral Example’ was given the title ‘First Published Book of President Ho Chi Minh Calendar in Vietnam’ by the Vietnam Guinness Record Council.

The 365-page book is filled with 200 portraits of the beloved leader, 365 quotes from his thoughts and poetry, and recommendations for the Party and the Vietnamese people.

It is spiral bound to allow users to turn the pages without tearing them so it can be saved as a reference book.

In coming years, the calendar will be printed in different sizes.

The calendar aims to provide Vietnamese people with a deeper insight of the late President, who has been recognized by UNESCO as a Great Man of Culture.

So far, 20 thousand copies of the calendar have been published at a cost of VND405,000 (US$20).

Introducing a different perspective, this history book calendar has opened a new door for the Vietnamese market.

Nguyen Minh Tuan, deputy director of the An Hao Company, said they planned to make the book calendar of this type for 2013, combining Vietnamese personalities, and focusing on each period of world and Vietnamese history.
