A concert featuirng Japanese music band ‘Kuricorder and Friends’ will be organized in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Music performance celebrates Vietnam – Japan diplomatic ties
The concert titled ““Kuricorder and Friends”, will take place at Youth Theater in Hanoi on January 12 and at Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music on January 14.
The Kuricorder & Friends is formed from the Kuricorder Quartet, Beautiful Hummingbird and Chiku Toshiaki.
Kuricorder Quartet is well known as a recorder ensembles group. They play various recorders, and other music instruments, such as Melodica, Saxophone, Tuba, Ukulele, Jew’s harp and percussion. They are well-known by the theme music of famous Japanese TV program “PythagoraSwitch” (NHK).
They started the music exchange program, “Kuricorder & Friends” in Southeast Asia in 2015. This is the third time they play in Vietnam after 2013 and 2016.
One of the most famous Dan Bau (Vietnamese monochord zither) player in Vietnam, Ngo Tra My will also join in the show.
The events will be hosted by the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam as part of the activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam – Japan diplomatic relations.
