Many Asian countries to take part in Southern Folk Cake Festival 2016

The 5th Southern Folk Cake Festival will feature 150 display booths of local businesses and international enterprises 10 ASEAN member countries, Japan, South Korea, India and others, according to the People’s Committee of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on March 6.

The 5th Southern Folk Cake Festival will feature 150 display booths of local businesses and international enterprises 10 ASEAN member countries, Japan, South Korea, India and others, according to the People’s Committee of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on March 6.

These booths include 130 local stalls and 20 international booths, featuring more than 200 traditional cakes and specialties.

There will be a series of cultural activities, such as cake exhibition, folk cake making contest, calligraphy and don ca tai tu (Southern folk music) performances, Miss Mekong Delta pageant, street festival, traditional games and others.

The cake show aims to preserve and promote traditional cuisines and cultural activities of the Vietnam’s South. It will be also a chance to promote tourism and cultural potentials of Can Tho city.

The 5th Southern Folk Cake Festival will take place at Cai Khe Islet in Can Tho City on April 15-19, 2016.
