Kon Tum organizes traditional sport games on Tet

The traditional doc moc boat racing and a competition of Chinese Chess board game opened in Kon Tum City in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum on February 11-12.

The traditional doc moc boat racing and a competition of Chinese Chess board game opened in Kon Tum City in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum on February 11-12.

The event aims to mark the 86th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (on February 3),  and 103th anniversary of the founding of Kon Tum Province (on February 9).

The event attracted 8 teams featuring 40 boats and 100 participants from wards, Quang Trung, Thang Loi, Krong, Ngoc Bay,  Dak Ro Wa, Vinh Quang, Sa Binh, Sa Thay town.

The competition was divided into three categories, 100 meters, 200 meters and 1,500 meters.

Meanwhile 30 players took part in the Chinese Chess board game.
Doc Moc boat is thin and long wooden boats. It is made from one whole tree. Doc Moc boat is used by ethnic minority people in the central highland region, aiming to transport agricultural products and used for their fishing trips.
