The Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra from Japan will give performances in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from November 7 to 12.
The Japanese orchestra and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra will be onstage together in the “Friendship Concert” under the baton of Japanese famous conductor Honna Tetsuji at the Hanoi Opera House on November 7.
Two special performances at the Hanoi Opera House on November 9th and Ho Chi Minh City Opera House will take place on November 9 and 12.
Japanese violinist Tamaki Kawakubo will join the event. She will play the Violin Concerto in D major op. 77 and the Symphony No. 1 in C minor op. 68 of J. Brahms.
Tamaki was born in California. She began violin studies at the age of five in Los Angeles. She won first prize at the 2001 Pablo de Sarasate International Violin Competition and was placed second equal and received a Silver Medal at the 2002 International Tchaikovsky Competition.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra was established in 1965 by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The orchestra is also known as one of the representative symphony orchestras of Japan.
Tickets at costs of VND700,000 (US$35), 500,000, 300,000, and 200,000 are available at Hanoi Opera House.
