Japan philharmonic orchestra quartet performs in Hoi An City

On occasion of the 45th anniversary celebration of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2018), the People’s Committee of Hoi An City and Tani Toshiko Foundation co-organized musical exhange concert by the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra Quartet yesterday.

In the space of full moon night in the ancient city, visitors and locals had a chance to enjoy performances of Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, a leading orchestra of Japan based in Tokyo, including Masakazu Saito, Shunichiro Sato, Yumiko Nakagawe, Tetsuya Osawa and Vietnamese pianist Dang Thai Son who brought audiences familiar Vietnamese and Japanese folk melodies.
The concert is part of JPO’s first tour in Vietnam from June 25 to 29. The concert was supported by Japan Embassy in Vietnam and Japanese Enterprise Association in the central city of Da Nang.
Director of Tani Toshiko Foundation Mrs. Reiko Usuda, has been awarded both in Vietnam and Japan for social contributions since 2003. For instance, she called for donating 13,000 bicycles for low-income children from families in Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province as well as organizing vocational training and sponsoring sustainable tourism.
