Int’l bonsai and flower show starts in Da Lat

An international bonsai and flower exhibition as part of the 2012 Da Lat Flower Festival opened in the Central Highlands city Friday, featuring more than 6,000 flowers and 2,800 bonsai pieces.

An international bonsai and flower exhibition as part of the 2012 Da Lat Flower Festival opened in the Central Highlands city Friday, featuring more than 6,000 flowers and 2,800 bonsai pieces.

Also on display at the five-day show are thousands of wood and rock products, as well as 725 calligraphy works.

The exhibition attracted 90 ornamental plant and pet keepers associations, flower villages, and businesses in Vietnam and overseas.

On the occasion, the Da Lat City People’s Committee received the trademark Da Lat Flower issued by the Intellectual Property Bureau of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Also on Friday, the Da Lat Flower Association opened a flower exhibition section inside the Dalat Palace Golf Club.

The opening ceremony of the 2012 Da Lat Flower Festival is due to take place Saturday evening.
