A painting exhibition, featuring Vietnamese traditional costumes and jewellery from the beginning of the 20th century, is being held at the French Cultural Centre on Le Hong Phong Street in the central city of Thua Thien - Hue.
The exhibition titled, ‘Vietnamese traditional costumes and jewellery of the 20th century’ is being organised by the Association of Friends of Old Hue and showcases around 400 works depicting Vietnamese people living across the country and even in Laos and Cambodia.
The exhibition also depicts Vietnamese people’s traditional outfits for festivals, ceremonial occasions as well as in their daily lives.
Paintings were drawn from 1934-1937 by students of the Gia Dinh School of Fine Arts under the management of French painter Jules Gustave Besson. Students used a variety of styles and drawing techniques including pencils, watercolors and printing plates.
The exhibition will run until March 4.
