Hanoi’s artists display paintings in HCM City

A painting exhibition of 9 artists from Hanoi opened at Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum on March 3.

A painting exhibition of 9 artists from Hanoi opened at Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum on March 3.

The exhibition displays more than 100 artworks describing the people, culture and landscapes in the North.

Artist To Ngoc Thanh, a son of To Ngoc Van who is one of Vietnam's top painters in the first half of the 20th century, presents to city’s viewers 24 pictures of daily activities of ethnic groups in Sapa.

The only woman artist in the event, Thanh Nga said that she brought over 10 paintings to the event, including the artwork “Long Bien Bridge- Childhood Memory” that won the 3rd prize in a painting contest marking 1,000 year-old Thang Long Citadel-Hanoi in 2010.
