Fifth Japanese Haiku poetry contest organizers give prizes

Since 2007, the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the City University of Social Sciences and Humanity have jointly launched Haiku Poetry Contest on Vietnamese and Japanese language every two years.

Since 2007, the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the City University of Social Sciences and Humanity have jointly launched Haiku Poetry Contest on Vietnamese and Japanese language every two years.

Each writer is eligible for one poem only. The contest organizers received 702 entries from poem writers across the country. Most entries write about the beauty of nature, environmental disaster, death and life.

The organizer gave the first prize to writer Tran Duy Khuong in the southern province of Binh Duong; three second prizes to Nguyen Xuan Tan in the southern province of Dong Nai, Nguyen Bich Thuy in the central province of Khanh Hoa, Nguyen Van Xin in Ho Chi Minh City and 8 encouragement prizes.
