Joining the show are three young Vietnamese fashion designers, Truong Anh Vu from the Phuong Dong Garment Joint Stock Company, Vu Viet Ha from Garment Company No.10 and Vu Thu Giang.

Each designer will highlight one of the three theme colors in their segment of the show. Designer Truong Anh Vu was inspired by the blue-hued patterns of brocaded fabrics woven by the H’mong ethnic group.

Red roses were the source of Vu Thu Giang’s inspiration and white imagery from spring’s pure rains accented Vu Viet Ha’s collection. Most of the designs emulate modern romantic styles popular in Europe.

The designs were chosen from the Viet Nam Spring & Summer Fashion Week  Trin Ha Noi last month by the Fashion Design Institute (Fadin) and the French culture center L’Espace.

The Vietnamese and French fashion industries have long maintained strong ties, especially between the French Fashion Institute, Vinatex and Fadin.

The French Spring Festival is also organized in other Southeast Asian countries by French embassies there. After this year’s debut, the festival will revisit Vietnam every two years. It will end on June 30 and is expected to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
