The meandering 100-meter-long catwalk that looks like a river will bring to audiences images of countryside in the South, said director Le Viet.
The event will present to fashionista around 100 designs, including traditional costumes, casual wear and evening dresses by Hang Nguyen, Phi Huynh Tien, Juun Dang Dung and Nguyen Minh Cong.
Miss Mekong Delta 2015 Nguyen Thi Le Nam Em will walk the show as its “First face”.
The proceeds of the show will be donated to the AMI Smile fund supporting disadvantaged children in Tan Chau, An Giang Province.
Lanh My A is a truly unique silk product, originating from the Tan Chau silk village in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang.
In 2006, Vietnamese designer Vo Viet Chung was awarded a UNESCO badge and certificate of merit for preserving Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage by reviving and promoting ‘Lanh My A’ (traditional Vietnamese fabric). The designer has contributed to restoring and preserving rare traditional Lanh My A fabric material and introduced the unique material to the international fashion world. He is the first Vietnamese designer granted an award of this type.
