Over 500 characteristic exhibits which are selected from more than 2.5 million books, documents and other objects presents to viewers the history, establishment, development and contribution of the library over the last century.
The exhibition is open until December 17 at the National Library of Viet Nam, 31 Trang Thi Street in Hanoi.
On the same day, the third convening of the International Network of Emerging Library Innovation (INELI) - Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) Project was held at the library. The meeting which is co-organized by the National Library of the Philippines and Melinda Gates Foundation(BMGF) will run until November 30.
The INELI-ASEAN project involves ASEAN member countries such as Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam.
The core goal of the INELI-ASEAN Project is the establishment of ASEAN Public Libraries Information Network (APLiN). The APLiN will serve as a network, information hub, common and practical platform wherein public libraries in Southeast Asia can connect with each other. It is a mechanism that will create future collaboration and partnerships among stakeholders within the region. It will provide easy access to vital information and a conducive venue for relevant knowledge, information exchange and best practices.
