Dong Thap province’s culture presented in Hanoi

A festival titled “The Colors of Dong Thap Province” opens at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi from September 30 – October 1.

The event is an opportunity for folk artists and craftmen form the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap to present their unique culture to Hanoians, such as folk singing, local textile weaving techniques, dishes and culinary skills.
The festival also includes activities, lion dance; playing folk games; making traditional toys, mooncakes and Com Vong (Vietnamese green rice flakes from the famous Vong village) that are regarded as a combination of northern and southern cultures.
Dong Thap is home of lotus in the South. Visitors coming to the province will have a chance to enjoy handicraft products, natural cosmetics and dishes made of lotus and images of lotus in daily lives in the countryside., cultural characteristics of Dong Thap.
