Da Nang City hosted the Indochina Literary Conference on September 11 for writers from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and also presented the 4th Mekong River Literature Awards.

Da Nang City hosted the Indochina Literary Conference on September 11 for writers from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and also presented the 4th Mekong River Literature Awards.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Lao and Cambodian counterparts, Thongsing Thammavong and Hun Sen, sent messages of greetings on the occasion.

The conference included more than 100 writers from countries in the Southeast Asian region including Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, along with representatives from Thailand and India.
The Indochina Literary Conference is a chance for writers and poets to exchange views, share experiences and enhance relationships and literary cooperation among countries.

On the occasion, the conference admitted the Thailand Writers Association to participate as an official member.

Fifteen Mekong River Literature Awards were presented to writers from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

The event will run until September 14 at the Furama Resort in the central city of Da Nang.
