Concert celebrates 8th Vietnam Music Day

A special concert to mark the 8th Vietnam Music Day will be held at Ben Thanh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City on September 1.

The event is also to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).
The music show called Bai ca ket doan (Song of Solidarity) will present to music lovers revolutionary songs , such as Cuoc song tuoi dep (Beautyful life), Hat ve thanh pho hom nay (Singing about the present city), Tuoi tre con mai (Young forever), Thieng lieng Vietnam (Spiritual Vietnam) and others by popular musicians Tran Long An, Phan Long, Nguyen Duc Trung, Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Vy Nhat Tao, Le Van Loc and others.
Singers, Phuong Uyen, Nguyen Phi Hung, the Mat Ngoc band, the Mat Troi Moi (New Sun) band, the ABC dancing group and among will join in the concert.
Vietnam Music Day is based on a famous cultural event that happened 50 years ago. On September, 3 1960, then President Ho Chi Minh conducted an orchestra to sing “The song of unity” at a gala night in Hanoi, commemorating the success of the third national Congress of the Vietnam Workers’ Party, now the Communist Party of Vietnam.
