City hosts Russian book week

A Russian book week celebrating 100 years of Russian October Revolution will be organized in Nguyen Van Binh Book street in Ho Chi Minh City on November 1-8.

The book week will include a seminar on books about the October Revolution, including the book “Ten Days that Shook the World” (1919) by American journalist and socialist John Reed, with the participation of Associate Professor Dr. Ngo Minh Oanh, Tran Thi Nguyet Sa and Ha Minh Hong on November 1.
Meanwhile speakers Pham Ngoc Thach and Tran Tien Cao Dang will take part in a discussion about the translation of Russian Literature on November 5.
A music show introducing 100 Russian songs will be led by musician The Hien on November 6.
A reading event and a short play based on the famous Russian book for kid, Doctor Aibolit by Korney Chukovsky will be organized on November 4.
There will be an exhibition called “Memories of Russia” featuring nearly 200 books in various fields, such as philosophy, children, fine arts, science, technology, literature and others during the book week.
