The event was attended by Deputy Head of the Department of Propaganda and Training of the HCMC Party Committee, Duong The Trung, together with delegates from departments and art associations, as well as a large number of artists, actors, authors, directors and stage researchers in the city.
The annual celebration aims to create chance for artists in the city to pay tribute to the theatre’s ancestors who laid the foundation for the national art forms and contributed to their development through the years.
On the same day, an incense offering ceremony to mark the Stage's traditional day was held at the Phuong Nam Arts Theater in Gia Dinh park. The same event was also organized at the District 5’s Cultural Center by People’s Artist Minh Vuong.
The HCMC Youth Cultural House offered 10 scholarships to students who are children of disadvantaged artists and honored artists who have outstanding contribution to the building and development of the city’s stage.
The ceremony commemorating anniversary of the ancestor of cai luong and stage were also held at State-owned and private theaters throughout the city, including Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theater, HCMC Drama Theater, 5B Vo Van Tan Drama Theater, Hoang Thai Thanh Stage, IDECAF Stage Hong Van Stage and among.
